Who wouldn’t want to enjoy blueberries in the summer – small blue fruits that smell and taste wonderful. Moreover, they have many health benefits, which places them in the group of so-called superfoods.
At Aramark, we process them into popular fruit salads, desserts, and sweet main dishes. We pride ourselves on the freshness and seasonality of ingredients, which is why, as part of the Journey to the Plate project, we collaborate with local farmers. Most recently, we have partnered with a blueberry farm in Postoupky near Kroměříž.
Fruits grown with love for nature
Blueberry Farm grows only the tastiest and highest quality varieties of blueberries for its customers. The business was jointly founded in 2020 by two friends, Petr Zahnaš and Martin Adamuška, who had long desired to build something that would bring them joy and make sense in the long term. From their enthusiasm and love for nature, a small farm with 12,000 blueberry plants was established on a total area of 3.6 hectares. In their cultivation methods, both owners focus primarily on methods that are gentle on nature and your health. Therefore, they use only 100% biological plant protection and can confidently guarantee the quality of their fruits.
Blueberry picking for the whole family
At the farm in Postoupky, they grow various varieties of blueberries that gradually ripen in the orchard during the summer. Do you have a free Sunday afternoon? Come here with the whole family from July to September to pick blueberries yourself! Of course, you can also buy them already picked at the farm. If you would like to grow blueberries at home, the farm will advise you on how to do it. And you can purchase your first plants and various care equipment right here.
But it doesn’t end with blueberries. In addition to quality blueberries, Blueberry Farm also brings other honest products from fresh local fruit to the market. In 2019, it opened a juice factory in Zlín, where it processes juices, jams, and preserves.
