- 2 red beets
- 200 g of Balkan cheese or feta
- 1 cup of fine oats
- 2 eggs
- fresh thyme
- salt and pepper
Peel and finely grate the beets. Add oats, eggs, salt, pepper, and thyme. Finally, add coarsely mashed cheese. Let the mixture rest for about 30 minutes. Prepare small patties from the dough, which are fried in a pan (always wait longer until the whole dough solidifies and the entire patty is firm, then turn over). The patties can also be baked in the oven under the grill at 200 °C, baking each side for about 15 minutes. Serve with vegetables and other ingredients of your choice. Or just with potatoes or mashed potatoes. They are excellent, for example, with a baguette and lots of arugula.
